Message from Your Host
Speaker - Mo Edjlali
Mo Edjlali - President of Mindful Leader

I'm excited to have you join us for the 2nd annual MINDFULNESS@WORK Online Summit. The explosive growth of mindfulness has created more opportunities than ever to bring mindfulness into the workplace while at the same time many new challenges have emerged. What worked a few years ago might not work anymore. The climate is changing, science is revealing new insights, the ground is shifting, and as the movement matures so are we. We are uncovering new insights, more voices, and controversial topics. We will learn from experts in this field clear practical takeaways, examine what is really working through case studies, we will ask tough questions, get messy and explore challenging topics. My hopes is like me, you will be intellectually stimulated, come away with actionable takeaways, be moved by inspirational stories, and rethink a thing or two that you thought you knew.

At Mindful Leader we are innovating, bringing in more voices and perspectives, discovering emerging topics, and providing a more fertile and solid foundation where we can all grow together. For our wonderful alumni that keep coming back event after event you'll  notice a majority of the 2019 speakers have not spoken at any Mindful Leader event before, and a fair number are sharing their expertise  in this field for the first time, including a handful of controversial speakers that some have seen as opponents of Mindfulness. I invite you to join me for this exploration,  together as a community we can collectively expand possibilities for the future of Mindfulness at Work.

For those new to Mindful Leader - You might be wondering who is this guy and why is he doing this? To give you a little background, I spent the first part of my career working as an IT and Management consultant for Accenture and Fair Isaac, working with international clients in energy, banking, retail, government agencies, universities, startups, and F500 companies. I launched my own company, bootstrapped, grew it from 0 to 30 people, and created a multi-million dollar business in less than 3 years. I embraced a ruthless, aggressive, gangster style of leadership to drive the company and its financial goals forward. Simply put, I was an a-hole leader and caused a great deal of suffering to my staff, my vendors, and myself. Thankfully the company collapsed and caused me to take a hard look at what I had become and question what's REALLY important? I was incredibly fortunate to discover Mindfulness and over the last 10 years, I have committed myself to driving the advancement of Mindfulness & Compassion in the workplace. This Summit is the culmination of years of work and I'm happy to have you part of it.
