A dedicated meditator, mindfulness facilitator and psychotherapist, Rachel Donaldson, LCSW is a certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher, a trained Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) teacher and Mentor for UC San Diego Mindfulness-Based Certification Programs. She currently has a private practice in Venice, CA where she specializes in mindfulness and compassion training, trauma resilience and nervous system regulation. When she discovered meditation in her early twenties, mindfulness quickly became an integral part of both her personal and professional life. Rachel is passionate about formal mindfulness training as well as utilizing mindfulness in everyday life to reduce suffering, increase compassion and deepen human connection.
Recently, Rachel served for five years as the Director of Community Mental Health and Supportive Services for a multi-faceted social service agency in Los Angeles where she brought mindfulness and compassion-based practices to therapists, non-profit administrators and the public at large. Prior to that, Rachel worked at Kaiser Permanente for over 10 years as a Senior Behavioral Health Educator where she taught over 30 MBCT and MBSR programs as well as facilitated professional mindfulness trainings for new physicians, medical staff and non-profit leaders.
