Energized by Wisdom: Takeaways from the 10th Summit

BL00 - energized by wisdom

By Piero Falci, Open MBSR Teacher

As we celebrated ten years of the Mindful Leader Summit in Washington, D.C., one theme resonated throughout the weekend — the growing need for wisdom, connection, and mindful leadership in our world.

Below, Open MBSR teacher Piero Falci shares his reflection on the experience.

I’m deeply grateful for the experience of being part of the 10th Mindful Leader Summit — a gathering that felt both intimate and profoundly energizing.

As an Open MBSR teacher, it was an honor to spend time with so many colleagues and participants. What struck me most was the concentration of genuine wisdom and shared purpose in the room. In every conversation, panel, and quiet moment, I felt a powerful current of caring and commitment to making a real difference in the world.

As we face complex, interconnected global challenges, mindful leadership feels more essential than ever. We don’t suffer from a lack of good ideas — what we often lack is the inner capacity to realize them wisely. The practice of mindfulness helps us pause, see clearly, and respond skillfully rather than react impulsively. This Summit was a living example of that pause in action.

At its heart, the Summit reminded me that it all comes down to helping people and the world. To see so many dedicated minds focused on this shared, compassionate mission was inspiring. The gathering wasn’t just about exchanging ideas — it was about building community and strengthening the collective foundation for mindful leadership.

I left D.C. with a renewed sense of optimism and possibility. The heart, presence, and dedication I witnessed are the very fuel that will power our work in the year ahead. I look forward to what we will create together next.
