CREDENTIALS: MBSR Teacher Trainer and Level 3 Certified Teacher from Brown University
Erin Woo is a MBSR Teacher and Teacher Trainer at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University’s School of Public Health. She is a long-term mindfulness practitioner and has been teaching mindfulness since 2009. Erin is the former Director of White Pine Montessori School, the school she founded in 2005. She has taught mindfulness extensively in K-12 schools and at the college level. She has trained hundreds of K-12 educators to teach mindfulness to their students and as a practice of self-care for themselves.
Drawing on her background in the field of education, she developed the course MBSR for Educators while at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School. She was on the lead faculty at Mindful Schools where she was a guiding teacher in the Mindful Teacher Certification Program and led week-long retreats. In addition to teaching mindfulness, she is involved in several research projects at the Mindfulness Center at Brown in which MBSR is being culturally adapted for BIPOC groups.
